The Supper Club

The supper club by Southern Jewel Hospitality & Intoxicology mobile mixology is an ongoing event that brings communities together around incredible food, excellent vibes, and a ton of heart. I met Chef Juwanza and his wife through my local church and he had asked "do you take photos of food?". I reported that I had been the unofficial family food photographer for my family for ages but hadn't actually delved into it too much. Needless to say, I fell in LOVE. Not just with the food but also the event flow, the vendors I got to meet more than once (shoutout to Juwanza & Jaco), and the people that attended.

Each of these events were handcrafted, curated, and coordinated by chef Juwanza- and a heck of a time it was! Though I had been photographing events through my church, events for family and friends, and can almost always be found with my camera, this was an introduction to the world of photographing unique events that made me realize what it was that I truly loved to do. This was the perfect blend of photographing people, food, beverages, and the aesthetics of the event. I got to stand back and observe people, the food, the process of food and drinks being made, and the flow of the evening which gave me so much joy and it showed through in the photos if I do say so myself! It is my most sincere hope that I continue to have a seat at the table because it is incredible, and if you're a local and haven't attended- you're missing out!
