Corporate events, but make it sparkle.
Something about a big gathering in a gorgeous and airy space is just electric, there's a vibe to it that creates ambience and excitement as people mingle. This is exactly what it was that I was hired to capture, and I was so excited to be there. I had the opportunity to capture the early evening event at the Janus Henderson Investor's rooftop event space, which is a gorgeous hybrid indoor-outdoor space offering simply stunning views of the city with a mountain backdrop. The event coordinator did an incredible job of ensuring there were beverages, food, and even live entertainment for the professionals attending the event. Though Denver turned up the heat that day (truly, to almost 100 degrees), people laughed, enjoyed the food, and had a great time.
One of my favorite things about photographing events like this is that I'm not just documenting the big moments. So much of what makes an event memorable happens in between them- the conversations happening over drinks, people catching up with colleagues, someone laughing across the table, or a guest stopping for a moment to take in the view. Those little interactions are what give an event its personality, and they're exactly the kinds of moments I love looking for behind the camera.
As the evening went on, the rooftop really came alive. Between the city views, the mountains in the distance, the music, and everyone settling into the evening, there were so many opportunities to capture both the energy of the event and the details that made it feel special. I love being able to move through an event and photograph it as it naturally unfolds rather than making everything feel overly posed or staged. For professional events especially, I think there's a lot of value in having photographs that feel genuine. A good event gallery should give you a sense of what it actually felt like to be there. It should capture the atmosphere, the people, the details, and the little moments that might otherwise be forgotten once the event is over. This was such a fun evening to photograph, and I'm so grateful I got to be a small part of it. Denver certainly made everyone work for it with the heat, but between the incredible rooftop setting and the energy of the people there, it made for a pretty unforgettable evening.
